Scholarly Output
Prof. Erhabor is a well-published researcher whose work has provided the leading lights in the pathophysiology of asthma and COPD in Nigeria — with over 150 peer-reviewed articles, over 150 published abstracts, and more than 95 oral presentations at local and international conferences.
He delivered the keynote address at a respiratory symposium on Chronic Respiratory Disease in resource-challenged regions of the world, hosted by Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, UK, in 2012.
Authored Books
His flagship medical text is the nationally acclaimed Pulmonary Function Tests: Spirometry & Peak Flow in Clinical Practice. He has also authored:
- The Asthma Education Series — pathogenesis, acute severe asthma, exercise and the peak-flow meter.
- The Tuberculosis Patients’ Education Series.
- Contributed chapters to Asthma in West Africa and Exercise Induced Asthma.

- Wellcome Trust Fellowship — quantifying the burden of obstructive lung disease in Nigeria, the first of its kind.

Editorial & Peer Review
Prof. Erhabor is the current Editor-in-Chief of the West African Journal of Medicine (WAJM), the flagship journal of the West African Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons, and a former editor of the African Journal of Respiratory Medicine. He regularly reviews for the AJRM, the Journal of the Nigerian Medical Association, and the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical Journal.
University & Examinerships
He has served as University Examiner for the Postgraduate College and on numerous faculty boards and committees. He was appointed External Examiner to many first-generation medical schools in Nigeria, including the University of Benin, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, LASU Teaching Hospital Ikeja, the University of Jos, and the University of Ilorin.
